about

This music, based on songs by Hanns Eisler, was commissioned by the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin for the 100th anniversary of Eisler´s birthday and was premiered at a NDR radio concert. I was a student at this conservatory in 1998 and found Eisler´s compositions and their texts (by Bertolt Brecht and others) hugely inspiring, touching and timeless.

The jazz orchestra was put together for this concert and recording and compromised of fellow jazz students, featuring my Saxophone teacher Gebhard Ullmann.
